Jesse C. Morris
Jesse Morris was born and raised in Essex County, New Jersey and has practiced law since 2007.
He had the privilege of clerking for the Honorable Dorothea O’C. Wefing, J.A.D, of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, and began his career as a litigator at a large New Jersey law firm. He has tried cases to juries and judges, handled arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association, and worked extensively in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels.
Jesse’s primary professional interests are consumer advocacy and animal welfare. His consumer work is driven by a commitment to accountability and fairness, particularly where individuals or small businesses are harmed by deceptive or abusive practices. His work on issues animal law is motivated by a broader concern with our ethical responsibilities, our compassion for those who cannot speak or advocate for themselves, and the effective use of legal systems to remedy and prevent harm and suffering.
Jesse is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and serves on the Special Committees on Animal Welfare Law, Class Actions, and Consumer Protection Law. He is a member of the Federal Practice and Procedure Section, where he previously served as Chair, and has served on the Nominating Committee.
Jesse earned a master’s degree in philosophy, which was one of the most formative influences on his legal career. His philosophical training informs a rigorous, ethical, and clear-eyed approach to problem-solving and advocacy. He focuses on helping clients understand the law, how it applies to their situation, and how to pursue their goals strategically and efficiently.
Outside the office, Jesse values traveling with his family and finding new opportunities to develop judgment, empathy, and a broader understanding of our world—qualities he brings to his work with clients.
